A walk in Dolores Park first

Mission Dolores Park has two unfenced off-leash areas in the middle of the park. Near the athletic fields, the playground and the tennis courts, dogs must stay on a leash, as in every other part of the city's parks outside the dog play areas (SF Recreation and Parks). The park is a short walk from the bars on 16th Street and the restaurants on Valencia and 18th Street.

Bars where dogs come inside

A few Mission bars let well-behaved dogs in: Bender's Bar & Grill and Elixir. Bars get loud and crowded at night, so an afternoon visit is easier on most dogs.
