Eating out with a dog in Los Angeles
Since 2015, California law has let restaurants welcome dogs in their outdoor dining areas, if the owner chooses to. Your dog has to be on a leash or in a carrier, stay off the chairs and benches, and reach the patio without walking through the restaurant (AB 1965). A city or county can still say no by local rule. That is why almost every dog-friendly restaurant in LA is about the patio.
Inside is different. Places that serve food generally keep dogs out of the dining room, apart from service animals. The few exceptions on our list are breweries, like Angel City Brewery.
