Wade, a UC Berkeley law graduate who had worked in restaurants before law school, built the menu on her late father's recipes. The owners crafted much of the room themselves, and the tables are made from real high school bleachers, which fits the name. The building stands on the site of a former Sacramento Northern Railway waiting room. Other macs have included buffalo chicken and a chicken tikka masala version, with house-made sodas and pies for dessert.
