The Oakland restaurant was the group's fifth when it opened, taking over a Port of Oakland lease from the Sea Wolf restaurant, which had been on the site since 1952. Ray Gallagher, one of the original partners, is now the owner. Manager Ramiro Carabez started there as a dishwasher at 19 and has worked at the restaurant for 34 years.
