Rules

In Portland's city parks, dogs must be on a leash except inside a designated off-leash area, and they stay leashed on the way in and out. In the off-leash area, carry a leash, keep your dog in sight and under voice control, stop it from digging and bring no more than three dogs. Dogs need a current license and rabies tag, and you must pick up after your dog. Dogs are not allowed on sports fields and courts or in water features, several off-leash areas near schools close to dogs on school days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and leash and scoop violations can cost up to $150. Rules and hours can change, and dog parks sometimes close for repairs. Check the signs at the gate.
