Coffee and a walk in Dolores Park

Mission Dolores Park has two unfenced off-leash areas in the middle of the park. Near the playground, the tennis courts and the athletic fields, dogs must stay on a leash, as in the rest of the city's parks outside the dog play areas (SF Recreation and Parks). Dolores Park Cafe is at the corner of the park, and Tartine Bakery and Maxfield's House of Caffeine are a few blocks away.

Most of these cafés have only a few outdoor tables, and at several of them your dog waits outside while you order. The note on each café says what the source mentions.

Frequently asked questions

Can dogs go inside cafés in the Mission?

No café on our list has a source saying dogs can sit inside. California law allows dogs in outdoor dining areas, so plan on a table outside.
