Izard won Top Chef as the show's first female champion and later a James Beard Award. She opened Girl & the Goat in Chicago in 2010 and a Los Angeles branch in 2021. Valley Goat, which opened at the end of March 2025, is her first Northern California restaurant. The room has hand-painted goat art, flea market finds and vinyl records on the turntable, and a full bar serves cocktails, beer and wine.
