More about The Butcher's Son
The siblings grew up helping at their father's vegetarian diner on Telegraph Avenue, which inspired the deli. It started in a small space at 1941 University, next to Bonita Fish Market, and in 2018 moved across the street into the former Maker's Common, gaining a bigger kitchen, more seating, a back patio and a larger market with take-home vegan meats and cheeses. In June 2026 its Steak Banh Mi won the top prize in PETA's first vegan steak awards.
