Coffee before the park

The Upper West Side sits between Central Park and Riverside Park, so most of these cafés are a few blocks from a good walk. In Central Park, dogs must be leashed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Off-leash time is 6 to 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in designated areas only (Central Park Conservancy).

Riverside Park has several dog runs along the Hudson, at 72nd, 87th and 105th Street (NYC Parks dog run data).

Many coffee shops here have no table service. Your dog waits at the outdoor table while you order inside, so bring a friend or a short leash to tie up. The notes on each café say when that is the case.
