More about California Sushi
Owner Hernán Castillo and head sushi chef Martín Hernández have kept the menu largely unchanged since the opening. Hernández started out washing dishes at Utage, another Japanese restaurant nearby, before filling in on the rolls, and created the Taco Mexicano, the restaurant's most popular roll. It stayed open through the Great Recession.
