Culver Beer Co.

Carlsbad brewery and tasting room in a warehouse on Loker Avenue, opened in February 2016 by Cal State San Marcos graduates Ben Fairweather and Mike Stevenson. The taps range from IPAs to Tiger Ride, a Belgian blonde, and an on-site deli serves sandwiches.

More about Culver Beer Co.

The project started as Palomar Brewing Company and was renamed over trademark concerns. Culver is an old word for a pigeon or dove, which explains the twin-bird logo. The founders built much of the brewhouse and tasting room themselves from old dairy equipment, and Stevenson apprenticed in Germany and Sardinia before brewing here. Tiger Ride took a bronze medal in 2017, and the deli, Locally Toasted, was added in 2019.
