Limón

Peruvian restaurant from the Castillo brothers, who opened the first Limón in San Francisco's Mission District in 2002. The Mountain View branch, their sixth, opened in July 2023 and serves rotisserie chicken with ají amarillo sauce, ceviches, empanadas, lomo saltado and pisco sours.

More about Limón

The recipes trace back to the brothers' mother, Luz, who cooked for the family in Peru before Martin, Antonio and Eduardo Castillo moved to the US in the 1990s. The menu here is built for sharing, with seafood platters, crispy pork belly chaufa (Peruvian fried rice) and the truffle mac and cheese that carries over from the other branches. The corner room on Castro Street has big windows, black walls with purple accents, woven pendant lamps and plenty of hanging greenery.
