Owner Ed Rathmann had run a fine dining restaurant and wanted something simpler, without tablecloths. A second Willow Street opened in Los Gatos two years after the San Jose original. Pizza makes up about 40 percent of orders, and the pastas include short rib mac and cheese and wild mushroom pesto penne. Gluten-free crusts and pasta are available, along with vegan and vegetarian dishes.
