Retro diner on Fourth Street, the former Bette's Oceanview Diner, reopened in March 2022 by a group of its own employees. Pancakes, waffles, scrapple, scones and egg dishes follow the original recipes, made from scratch.

Bette and Manfred Kroening opened Bette's in 1982, when Fourth Street was a new shopping district. It closed suddenly in January 2022 after nearly 40 years, when Manfred retired.
Seven former workers, among them a longtime chef and the to-go manager, then took over with a loan from landlord Denny Abrams, bought the recipes and dropped Bette's name. They kept the retro look and the 1950s drive-in style jukebox, and the diner is now employee-owned.
