The space covers about 9,000 square feet, with a central bar of 50 taps, dark wood and copper inside, and a 4,000-square-foot beer garden with palm trees. Its small three-barrel brewhouse is used only for experimental and specialty batches, and beers that catch on move to the company's production breweries.

Opening chef Colin MacLaggan built a menu of shareable land, sea and garden plates, often cooked with Ballast Point beer and spirits. A private room, the Kettle Room, offers a tasting menu paired with the beers.
