Head brewer Blake Masoner opened Craft Coast in August 2020 with longtime friends Brian Gillen and Lars Erickson, who grew up together in North County. The Oceanside brewpub runs a 10-barrel brewhouse in view of the dining room. The flagship is Agua Baja, a Mexican-style lager, and medal-winning beers include a dark lager, an Australian-style XPA and West Coast and hazy IPAs. A second location with a larger brewhouse opened in San Marcos in 2024.
