The two brands took over the former 32 North brewery, buying its 20-barrel brewhouse and canning line, and held a joint grand opening the weekend before Thanksgiving 2020. Brewer Cody Morris, formerly director of brewing operations at Mission Brewing, created Embolden with his cousin Andrew Kelly, who brews for both brands. A beer garden of about 3,000 square feet was built partly on reclaimed parking lot.

Recent releases include a purple ube hazy IPA and Dusk in Kyoto, a hojicha lager, with labels that pair San Diego landmarks with sights in Japan.
