Coronado began as a spinoff of a downtown San Diego Nicky Rottens opened by Nick Tomasello, but by 2012 the two were separate businesses sharing a name and menu, with Tim Aaron and a partner running Coronado. The former laundromat corner of the building became a family dining area. A Rancho San Diego branch closed in 2018, while Coronado carried on. Nearly twenty large TVs make it a common spot for watching games.
